In full: "Dear Tom, It's too early to advertise the new novel, Helga, but it would splendid if you want something of me in the book, you blessed! To have these pictures from the two other books of this year - Garda. I am sending the frontispiece from my novel Garda and a page of drawings. The ones circled by blue pencil were used in my little book "The Kewpies and the Runaway Baby". Both were published by Doubleday Doran. For Heaven's sake don't let the engravers lose these originals! Thanks for the love that slumbers not, nor sleeps. Your own pet ram, Rose O'Neill." There are a pair of printed Kewpies at the bottom and several decorative flourishes in the author's script.
