Rare and significant map of San Francisco. This issue is not in Baird, although there was an 1854 version that was a letter sheet (Baird 188); it had eight vignettes along the sides. The present example was purchased at the Clifford Auction in 1994, described as a variant, printed across a double sheet. The outline coloring indicates boundaries between wards; there are also three ink lines indicating routes in to (or out of) the city.
