Presentation copy inscribed on the preface mounted on inside front cover, in ink: "To Hon John Conness U.S. Senate with Compliments of N G Taylor Commr. Indian Affairs." Conness was a Senator from California. Large and detailed map of the western United States with Indian Reservations shown plus mineral deposits, forts, roads, and much more. There was a booklet of 30 pp. of "Notes" that sometimes accompanies the map, not present here.
