Single sheet folded to form [12] pages (6 on each side). Illustrated from photographs; map. 16x53 cm (6¼x20¾") (folded to 16x9 cm (6¼x3½").

Rare little brochure for the Victorian style hotel built in 1876 to serve tourists visiting the nearby Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. As tourism increased, through 1916, the hotel built additional rooms and facilities. The Wawona Hotel is located 4 miles (6.4 km) from the park's south entrance, between the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees and the Yosemite Valley. It is one of the few historical period hotels still standing within Yosemite National Park's boundaries. It should be here noted that as of March 1, 2016, the name of the Wawona Hotel was changed to Big Trees Lodge due to a trademark dispute with the former concessionaire, hopefully to be resolved in the not too distant future. In December 2015 PBA sold another example of this brochure, but this is a variant, being wider, the difference being an extra panel, making it 12 pages rather than 10. OCLC/WorldCat locates only one copy of the brochure, at the University of California Berkeley - it is the 10-page version.
