7 original photographs of various sizes ranging from 4½x9½ to 7½x9¼ mounted to pages of a 12x13 booklet. Titled by hand on front: "'Early Birds' First Section of fresco The pre-Lindbergh era of flying on Long Island by Aline Rhonie at Hangar F - Roosevelt Field."

One photo-overview and six detail photographs of the left half of Aline Rhonie's 113 foot mural, showing the years 1908 through 1916. Photos obviously taken before completion of mural with unfinished section visible in overview and in one detail photo. Rhonie's mural, when completed in 1938, included all noted events, significant flights and important aircraft and aviation personalities relating to aviation at Roosevelt Field from 1908 to 1927. Rhonie, who studied her mural technique with Diego Rivera in Mexico, was a noted aviatrix herself. Earning her pilot's license in 1930 at age 21, she went on to become the first woman to solo from New York to Mexico City and back. She served as a pilot for the French Ambulance Corps, was a member of the Women's Voluntary Service in England, 1939, a member of the Women's Auxiliary Flying Squadron (WAFS), co-founder of the Luscombe Airplane Co. in Kansas City, etc.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.

A buyer's premium of 20% will be applied to all purchases.
