Cram, Thomas J.

As Warren Heckrotte notes, "Cram's report was not published; the Secretary of War thought it had inappropriate comments and observations. There are many references in the memoir to maps supplied by Cram; these were not printed - unfortunately." The "inappropriate comments" referred to likely had to do with Cram's observations on the hostilities between the Native Americans and the white settlers and soldiers. Howes C853; Graff 907.
