Description:

11 pp. text; 2 folding facsimile maps. 34.2x24.7 cm (13½x9½"), quarter cloth & boards. Second Edition, revised.

The two maps reproduced are Nichola van Sype's La Heroike Enterprinse Faict Par Le Signeur Draeck D'Avoir Cirquit Toute La Terre," [c.1583], and Jodocus Hondius' Vera Totius Expeditionis Nauticae. [c.1595 or earlier], both with Drake's track shown and with vignettes depicting various of his adventures. The first edition was publised in 1927, for this second edition, "a few small alterations have been made and a portrait of Drake has been added." The portrait, on p.11, is from the engraving by Jodocus Hondius.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
