Cleveland, OH

Emil Grossman & Co.

[2], 78 pp. 10.7x6.7 cm (4¼x2¾"), original faux alligator skin printed wrappers.

Early schedule book for the National League, including teams such as Brooklyn that had recently joined after the dissolution of the American Association. The schedule includes blank spaces in which to right the number of hits, runs and errors for each game, and the pitchers (this ha been done on six pages in May, then discontinued); there are occasional printed anecdotes and statistics to liven up the contents. Issued as a promotional piece by The Press, a New York daily calling itself "The Aggressive Republican Newspaper." No copies of this schedule are listed in OCLC/WorldCat.

Lot Amendments

Some rubbing and wear to wrappers, a little darkening to contents; very good.
