Browne ("Phiz"), & a few by George Cruikshank, Seymour and others; printed tissue-guards. 23x16 cm (9x6¼"), bound in period three quarter leather and marbled boards, raised bands on spine, spine decoratively tooled and lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers.  One of 750 copies. "National Edition."

Signed by Alfred Tennyson Dickens, fourth son of Charles,  on the limitation page of  Vol. 1. Opposite is a bound in check dated 1861, signed by Charles Dickens. Nice set of Dickens with illustrations from those in the original editions of the works.
