64 pp. Twenty-nine prints from woodblocks cut by Jim Dine. (Folio) 38x28 cm (15x11") oak boards with lightning-bolt pattern, white pigskin backing, lettered in blind. Housed in a custom oak box with relief sculpture cast and painted by Dine. Copy number 139 of 150 copies and one of only 8 copies presented in this special case. First Edition.

The tenth book of the Arion Press and the first a collaboration with a major American artist, and the first of several projects between the press and Jim Dine. The text is printed in Garamond Bold monotype, reset by hand. Printed damp on French handmade Apta Velin from the Richard De Bas Mill. The publisher's catalog states: "Oak boxes housing a relief sculpture of a skull face by Jim Dine, cast in bonded plaster and individually painted by the artist, were fabricated with a latched, recessed tray for the book." This special edition of 8 copies was originally offered at $10,0000, only one copy has appeared at auction since its issue, in 2009 where it fetched over $14,000. A stunning production.
