One of the great American atlases of the first half of the 19th centur. Includes the double-page map of the United States, and 34 maps of American states and cities, which were originally published as Bradford's "Illustrated Atlas of the United States". With a separate map of the Republic of Texas, of which, as noted in the text, "the boundaries of this infant commonwealth are as yet unsettled on the side of Mexico". Austin is shown and the various grants, etc., between the Red River and the Nueces. Texas is shown as independent from Mexico in the North American map, and is unconnected on the U.S. map, but it is named. Phillips Atlases 783.
