[4], vi, 136, [2], 87, cxiv, [2], 106 pages. 8vo. Recently rebacked preserving endpapers, and with new red leather spine labels. "A Treatise on the Law of Descents in Fee-Simple" with separate title page, printed for Richard Watts and dated 1760. 

First plate is "A Table of Consanguinity" and found opposite page [1] of the first part (binder instructions opposite page 134). Second plate, a folding table of Descents is found opposite page 67 of the second part (binder instructions opposite page 138, probably a misprint for page 13 where first mentioned). Complete. Contains: 

  • I. An Essay on Collateral Consanguinity, its Limits Extent and Duration
  • II. Considerations on the Question whether Tenants by Copy of Court Roll, according to the Custom of the Manner, Though not at the will of the Lord, are Freeholders Qualified to Vote in Elections for Knights of the Shire.
  • III. The Law of Descents in Fee-Simple. 
  • IV. The Great Charter and Charter of the Forest, with other Authentic Instruments : to which is prefixed an Introductory Discourse containing an History of the Charter.

Condition:
Lightly browned paper throughout, both plates darker than the rest and the second plate with edge tears at the folds. Occasional marginal penciled notation. Good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
