Important treatise on the sundial by the Italian mathematician and astronomer. Giovanni Padovani, expanded from the first edition of 1570. The manual includes instructions for the manufacture and laying out of mural (vertical) and horizontal sundials; contains extensive tables of declinations for various latitudes with both occidental and oriental examples; and provides instructions for the calculation of latitudes. In this copy, the corrections in the errata slips have been made in ink within the volumes, with the various erratum crossed through.

Lot Amendments

Some discoloration, wear and wrinkling to covers; front flyleaves worn and with old ink calculations; a few old ink notations to title page; a few instances of marginal worming and some other internal wear or soiling; very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
