One of the most internationally acclaimed works in the fantasy literature genre and one that appears to be eternally popular with readers young and old of any generation. First State with the bowing Hobbit vignette on title page, and the list of illustrations listing the endpapers in the reverse order, and Chapter VII incorrectly headed Chapter VI.

Lot Amendments

Jacket, unclipped and with the $2.50 price still present, with just a few small chips at the edges, jacket spine lightly rubbed, two small old tape repairs on the reverse at the head of the spine and the foot of the front flap fold; the volume itself with only minimal evidence of age or wear; a fine copy in a very near fine, and unrestored, dust jacket.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
