xlii, [4], xliii-xliv, [2], viii, 486 pp. Additional ads on front and rear pastedowns. Two blank leaves at both front and rear. (8vo) 22.5x14 cm (9x5½") original printed boards with black leather spine, ruled and lettered in gilt.

Much enlarged from Kelly's "First" directory, with about 9000 residents listed and a new section on the "Boundary Difficultly. On page 183, in the Virginia City directory, Samuel L. Clemens [Mark Twain] is listed as local editor of the "Territorial Enterprise," though interestingly, he is not mentioned in their full-page advertisement on page 218. Flake 4566; Howes K65(b); Quebedeaux 145. No copies appear in auction records since the Streeter copy in 1968 ($600).

Binding a bit shaken, spine ends chipped, later owner's label on front endpaper; a few signatures pulled with page edges uneven; still very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
