Description:

[6] leaves of text printed on rectos only, + 12 original silver photographs mounted on thick leaves with printed captions - the photographic images measure 8x7 cm. The booklet is 12.3x16.3 cm. (4¾x6½"), wrappers printed in gold lettering, string ties.

Scarce booklet notable for the original photograph illustrations. ​G. L. Rose had his  studio in Pasadena. He photographed the Southwest during several journeys with George Wharton James. OCLC/WorldCat lists one work with the same title, at the Huntington Library, of seven unnumbered leaves, and while noting illustrations makes no mention of the original mounted photographs.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
