600 pp., The index and first approximately 140 pages in neat manuscript, the remaining pages typewritten. Several inserted blue-print maps. 45x29 cm (17¾x11½"), original canvas over boards with three wrap-around leather straps, black leather spine labels lettered in gilt.

Massive original ledger of significance to the understanding of railroad expansion in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs at the end of the 19th century, prime source material. Recorded at length are the numerous land transactions as rights of way were acquired, with the property and boundaries described in great detail, the amount paid, and various legal details. A number of interesting blueprint plans of rights of way and proposed crossings of private property are laid in, some with hand coloring. The ledger presents as important body of information worthy of study.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
