Detailed listing of the thousands of commercial vessels registered on the west coast and Hawaii, recording the type of ship or boat, the name, hull construction, tonnage, build date, build location, dimension, managing owner, and home port. At the beginning are various rules for passage at sea, locations of radio stations, coast guard stations, guide to reviving shipwreck survivors, etc. This is the first year under this title - up to 1930 the register was called "Vessels documented on the Pacific Coast of the United States and Hawaiian Islands."
