[16] pp. (8vo) 21.5x16.5 cm. (8½x6½"), original parchment outer wrapper, inner stiff red wrapper, hand stitched. One of about 200 copies. First Edition.

The author's second book, printed by Brautigan's friend Joe Dunn of the White Rabbit Press using the printing equipment at the Greyhound Bus Company in San Francisco, where Dunn worked. Cover illustration by Kenn Davis. Rare. Barber 7. Provenance: Anna Savoca. Brautigan met and dated Anna Savoca, then a photographer and a student at San Francisco State University, in 1963. He courted her with poetry, and eight unpublished poems survive. After Savoca ended the relationship,  Brautigan cut his wrists superficially, smearing his blood on the walls of her apartment. (Hjortsberg,198-199, 201-202)

Lot Amendments
Light wear and darkening to outer parchment wrapper with some small chips to edges, a miniscule chip near head of spine; light creasing to corners, light wear to interior with a small spot of foxing to a few leaves; very good.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
