210, [1] pp. With two original color lithographs by Marc Chagall created especially for the book; illustrations in color throughout reproducing preliminary and finished drawings by Chagall, and the finished windows. (4to) 33x24 cm (12¾x9½"), grey cloth, color pictorial jacket. First Edition.

Chagall designed the stained-glass windows of the synagogue at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem. Especially noteworthy for the two original color lithographs. Small introductory pamphlet laid in.

Lot Amendments

Light edge wear to jacket, light wear to cloth with browning/foxing to edges; light foxing to endpapers, colophon, and a few blank pages at rear, 1" closed tear to edge of colophon page, crease to bottom corner of colophon and following page at rear, some spotting and browning to page block edges, plates bright and free of foxing; very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances. For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
