[16], 236 pp. (4to) 25x19 cm (10x8"), period calf with decorative gilt borders, gilt ruled spine, morocco spine label lettered in gilt. 

Catherine Jemmat (1720-c.1766) was born at Exeter, the daughter of Admiral John Yeo. She married a Plymouth silk mercer, who proved a drunkard and was bankrupted. Catherine attempted to earn a living by writing for the Gentleman's Magazine and published her memoirs in 1762, and the Miscellanies originally appeared in 1766. This copy complete with half title and list of subscribers.

Lot Amendments

Wear and rubbing to calf, some loss to leather at head of spine and a few areas on bottom board, joints cracked, front board a bit loose but holding; interior solid with toning and scattered light foxing; about very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
