Very rare tourist booklet for this legendary Florida hotel, built in 1897 by railroad magnate Henry Plant. The associated golf links opened with 6 holes in 1897, expanded to 9 by 1899, 18 by 1909 and in 1915 to 36 holes designed by Donald Ross. US Open Champion Alex Smith was the club professional. The images show the famous Donald Ross trademark elevated greens and other views of the course. At the rear is a large folding plan showing the hole by hole layout of both 18-hole courses, with a table of yardages by hole. The plan was drawn by Donald Ross and his group and contains his facsimile signature. Rare. The first copy we have seen.
