4 volumes. Portrait frontispiece in first volume. (8vo) 21x13 cm (8½x5") old full calf, paneled in gilt and blind, later rebacking, spines gilt, endpapers renewed. First authorized and separate edition.

A celebrated work, containing recollections and characterizations of many poets who Johnson knew personally. The work remains a striking personal account of shared experiences. The portrait frontispiece of Johnson in Volume One is in the state with the publisher's imprint (no priority).

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
