Francis du Pont is credited as the creator of smokeless gunpowder. Limited to approximately fifty copies, privately printed for the family, none of which were for sale. The first 48 pages are concerned with the conquest of California. Du Pont commanded the Atlantic blockading forces against the Confederacy during the first two years of the war. Scarce.
