Volume of signatures and occasional inscriptions of 83 noted women journalists. (12mo), gilt decorated green leather, raised spine bands.
Sally Kirkland was a manager at Lord & Taylor, a fashion editor at Vogue magazine and served as the only fashion editor at Life magazine between 1947 and 1969. Kirkland's lover was Prince Sergei Platonovich Obolensky Neledinsky-Meletzky — known as Serge Obolensky — a Russian-American aristocrat, U.S. Army paratrooper, socialite and publicist. Sally and Serge had an open, yet scandalous relationship, that lasted over 25 years, while both were married to other partners. This volume contains signatures and inscriptions from 83 noted women journalists, mostly from the fashion industry, wishing the pair well on their 25th anniversary. Laid in is an original ink drawing, likely a caricature of Kirkland.
