Signed by the photographer on the mount. Classic image of actress Veronica lake in a corset with two mirrored reflections, taken on the set of Miss Susie Slagle's. Peter Stackpole (1913-1997) was one of the original staff photographers for Life Magazine, working for the magazine from 1936 to 1960. He is best known for his images of Hollywood celebrities and for his photographs of the construction of the bridges spanning the San Francisco Bay. The photographer's home was destroyed in the Oakland Hills fire of 1991, along with the majority of his prints and negatives. Provenance: from the photographer's estate, by descent.
