Armitage's account of D.H. Lawrence's stay in Taos as the guest of Mabel Dodge Luhan. According to Thomas Rice in his D.H. Lawrence: A Guide to Research it contains "several barbed remarks about Mabel Luhan's destructive and dangerous influence on them." Inscribed by Armitage on the rear endpaper: "For Elinor - this was written and designed for the February 1951 issue of FLAIR, a Merle Armitage Book, to be bound into that issue. When Flair suspended, I had 16 copies printed & bound for friends, this is your Christmas present, with love from Elsa, Charma, & Merle. 1950." Exceedingly rare, no copies in recent auction records and seven of the sixteen copies are in institutional collections.
