Composer Alexander Scriabin died two years before the Bolshevik Revolution; the artistic revolution of the early Soviet era saw revived interest in his work. For the 5-year anniversary of Scriabin’s death, Sergei Koussevitzky, (later conductor of the Boston Philharmonic) organized all-Scriabin concerts in Moscow, while Russian-born British conductor Emil Cooper followed suit with this concert in Petrograd (soon to be renamed Leningrad). As notable as the concert itself is the cover-art by Golovin, "World of Art" group colleague of Bakst, Bilibin, Daghilev and Benois. Period catalogues with Golovin art work have recently commanded five-figure prices on the antiquarian market.
