Rare inscribed copy of the Book Club's first publication. Inscribed by Cowan on blank page opposite the title: "To Fred W. Skiff with the kindest regards, Robert Cowan Feb 6/22." With the decorative bookplate of Fredrick W. Skiff. The first edition of Cowan's landmark bibliography, and the first publication of the Book Club of California. The Zamorano Eighty notes Cowan as "for many years the greatest authority on the bibliography of California." With the decorative bookplate of Irvin L. Edelstein. BCC 1; Zamorano Eighty 23.

Frederick Woodward Skiff (1867–1947), was an author, noted collector, bibliophile, expert on Americana, and founder of the Acorn Club

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
