Illustrated from photographs. (8vo), cloth backed boards, pictorial dust jacket. First Edition.

With two typed, signed letters by former governor and Chief Justice Warren laid in a stamped, addressed envelope tipped in on the front free endpaper. One letter is on the letterhead of  the "Governor's Office" State of California (1943) and the second is on Supreme Court Stationary "Chambers of the Chief Justice" (1962). The letters are addressed to the same person, who Justice Warren knew personally - the first for not congratulating the writer on his marriage, and the second hoping to arrange a meeting when the correspondent visited Washington. 


Lot Amendments

Condition:
Some wear and soiling to jacket with occasional small closed tears to edges, area of creasing and a larger closed tear to back panel near spine; light wear to cloth with some rubbing to extremities; the book is overall very good; both letters are fine with original folds.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
