Uncommon map of the western hemisphere, which includes a fragment of Japan, a partially delineated New Zeeland, a smattering of Pacific islands, and the island of California off the west coast of North American, described by McLaughlin as "California of Briggs type, with place names C. Mendocino, C. de Fortrunos, Nova Albion, C. de Pinas, Po. S. Franco. Draco..." The engravings in to corners consist of people representing America (top left, a savage smoking a pipe); Africa (top right, a woman and child leaning on an elephant); Asia (lower left, a map seated by a bear, which seems to be gnawing on a child); and Europe (lower right, a dapper gent seated on an anchor holding a paddle labeled PWCPF).
