Scarce program for the 1927 Amateur. Bobby Jones was the champion of the 31st National Amateur, a feat he accomplished five out of eight times competing in the U.S. Amateur. This was his 7th major championship. He is arguably the best amateur athlete of all time, his most famous achievement was dubbed a Grand Slam: He won the British Amateur, British Open, U.S. Open, and U.S. Amateur all in the same year. Program includes an article on the history of the Amateur, an article on Minneapolis "Golfing Center of Northwest," and article by Grantland Rice, and a history of the Minikahda Club (Minikahda means "By the Side of Water"). This program rarely comes up for auction, only the second copy we have offered.
