Recipes for rum punch, mint julep, and several other cocktails. An interesting recipe for an alcoholic Tea Punch predicts, "This beverage is destined to be a popular one for the coming winter 'teas' as a change from Russian teas, plain tea and chocolate. Green tea is popularly used for the punch, and that of the very best quality must be selected. There is a firm handling English specialties in New York city who carry a Russian carava tea of a most delicate and delicious flavor, which can be used for this purpose." A warm punch bowl filled with brandy, rum, sugar and lemons is then steeped with the tea. Recipes also include mango pickles, shrimps a la Newburg, crab gumbo, game pie, etc.
