Gimbel A51; NCBEL III, 794. The weekly serial publication format of Master Humphrey's Clock was an experiment by Dickens and Chapman and Hall, but after The Old Curiosity Shop and Barnaby Rudge appeared in the series, they returned to the monthly parts issue format. Master Humphrey's Clock had the unusual distinction of appearing in three formats: 88 weekly serial parts, 20 monthly parts and in book form, three volumes in cloth.
