Jacob-Nicolas Moreau was a French historian, historiographer of France, and great defender of the Ancien Regime. As a historian, he wrote a large number of memoirs and essays and created a "deposit of charters" to collect the official texts of national history. His doctrine influenced the kings of the Restoration.
