Four typewritten pages by Zane Grey concerning his first impressions of Tahiti and his many trips to the island, written in letter form. Holograph corrections throughout. Most of the final page is made up of a personal note written in pencil.: "This is a long letter, doc, but I am sure you would expect something of the kind..." The letter is not signed or addressed.
"From 1926 to 1938 I missed only two years fishing in Tahiti. In view of the fact that I could not resist the fascinating allure of other countries, and that Tahiti is the hardest place to fish probably in the whole world, I regard this as my most notable achievement. The driving passion, of course, was the pursuit of great game fish. Sword fish grow to unbelievable dimensions in this tropic South Sea."
