JOHN DUNHILL: "Two-Pen" Double-Nibbed Fountain Pen, Matchstick-Filler, Black Hard Rubber, Large Size, Rare

Zerollo-John Dunhill

United Kingdom

"Two-Pen" double-nibbed matchstick-filler fountain pen, black hard rubber with spiral-chased pattern, two gold-filled bands, barrel imprinted: "John Dunhill / TWOPEN / Patent No. 397736, clip engraved "ZEROLLO / 18 K-R". 145mm. Two retractable 14K gold circle-vent John Dunhill nibs, both appear medium, slight flex. The captop unscrews to reveal the matchstick filler. The pen has two separate ink reservoirs, one for each nib. The bottom knob is turned to propel one nib; turn the knob the other direction to retract the first nib and propel the second. John Dunhill licensed the Zerollo propelling nib technology from Zerollo for the English-speaking market (Zerollo also had a marketing agreement in France with the Unic Pen Co.). This Zerollo-Dunhill pen was produced in two sizes, of which this is the larger; both versions are quite rare. Excellent condition, very slight wear to clip, otherwise pristine.
