Three (8vo) volumes with three (12mo) documenting the exploration and colonization of Tahiti - four in French, one in Spanish, and one a printed facsimile of a microfiche manuscript in English. 

• Account of Tahitian Mission by J.M. Gramond, Missionary, written in 1849. Facsimile of manuscript in University of Michigan archive, wrappers. 
• Tahiti et les Iles Adjacentes par Th. Arbousset. Chez Grassart, Libraire, Paris, 1847. Lithographed frontispiece portrait of the author, with engraved plates and a fold-out map with hand-colored colonial flags, tissue guards. Original green morocco-backed boards lettered on spine in gilt, raised bands, marbled edges and endpapers. Inscribed by the author "To lady Cooper Hommage de l'auteur Th. Arbousset". (Rubbing at joints; a few minor stains inside).
