Description:

12 are in pencil, 3 are typed but with pencil titles and borders. Approx. 45x80 cm (17¾x31½") or smaller.

Original pencil designs and technical drawings for the Douglas A-20 Havoc, or DB-7, which served as an attack aircraft, light bomber, and reconnaissance aircraft during World War II, in air forces of the United States, the Soviet Union, Great Britain and other allied nations. Although not the fastest or longest-range aircraft in its class, the Douglas DB-7 series distinguished itself as a tough, dependable combat aircraft with an excellent reputation for speed and maneuverability. The aircraft entered service in 1939, and like most combat aircraft in the war was constantly modified and improved, and even after production halted in September of 1944 parts were still needed for maintenance, hence the ongoing designs. Most of the drawings in this collection are credited to P. McLean, and he (or she?) has stated the time spent on each piece, with the date started and date completed. A significant gathering.
