Signed and dated by the artist at lower right. Included is a postcard that was subsequently produced from the painting. This turn of the century scene depicts a family golf course outing with a husband and wife leading, followed by a caddie and then a young couple, then a young boy carrying two golf clubs, and bringing up the rear is another caddie with the dour grandmother keeping watch. Reginald Arthur Lay Carter was a British comics artist from the first half of the 20th century, who contributed mainly to D.C. Thomson and Amalgamated Press.
