Affixed to the front pastedown is a letter from Harry Vardon to A.W. Tillinghast, the envelope being pasted to the front free endpaper. Personal photo of Vardon by A.W. Tillinghast tipped to half-title page. Preceded by the Edinburgh Edition of 1875 and the London Edition of 1893. "Widely regarded as one of the most significant, as well as best produced, early books on the history of golf, Clark's work is a compilation of the earliest literature of the game." - D&J. Lot Amendments
Rubbing to slightly leaning spine, rubbing to cloth with some stains and soil; a bit of foxing, small dampstain at gutter heel, binding starting internally, a few sprung pages; very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
