Lockman's notable work on the travels of the Jesuits, with several significant maps including the Eusebio Francisco Kino map of the American southwest, "Passage by Land to California Discovered by Eusebius Francis Kino a Jesuit" (22.5x20.4 cm). The other maps are of Tierra del Fuego the Straits of Magellan, Mission of the Moxos, or Moxes: Settled by the Jesuits in Peru, and Malabar and the Coromandel Coasts. The plates are a view and plan of Nagasaki, and the Gin-seng plant. According to Hill collection this second edition is better than the first "for its inclusion of much new data on Spanish America, especially California."
