President of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, William A. Smith was also a professor of Moral and Intellectual Philosophy. In 1856, Smith delivered this series of lectures In which he asserted that Scripture, philosophy, and natural right justified the system of slavery. Sabin 84742.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
