408 + [20] ad. pp. Steel-engraved frontispiece portrait with tissue-guard; 4 color lithograph plates by Sarony; map; wood engravings within the text. (8vo), original blind-stamped cloth, spine stamped in gilt. First Edition, second issue.

Second issue, with the lithographed plates by Sarony & Major rather than Sarony, and with blank endpapers. Cowan p.137; Howes C624.

Wear and soiling to cloth with sunning to spine, rubbing to extremities, volume leaning a bit; some foxing at front and rear, with light foxing to frontispiece, some spotting to edges, early ownership signature; about very good.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
