Prospectus offering investment opportunities in the Bernalillo Oil Company, through which one can gain "Wealth Beyond the Dream of Avarice" by investment of 20 cents a share. Though this prospectus originated in Boston, it should be noted that the Bernalillo Oil Co., incorporated in 1901, under laws of Arizona. Philip Morse, of San Diego was president, and the home office was located in the First National Bank Bldg., San Diego, Cal. No copies are listed by OCLC/WorldCat.
The company was, it seems, based on fraud. The United States Investor, April 29, 1905, wrote that "when the Bernalillo Company was brought out, we reported adversely on it and intimated that it was very doubtful of anything would ever come of it. Nothing has been heard of the company for some time, and the supposition is that it has found it’s end-oblivion. The stocks has no market value, and intrinsically it is not believed to be more than the paper it is printed on."
