2 volumes. [8], 291; 328, 21 pp. Titles in red & black with woodcut printer's device. With 4 folding engraved plans. (12mo) 15.5x9 cm (6x3¾"), Modern red morocco with gilt borders, gilt decorated spine compartments; gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Third Edition. 

Handsome example of this third and best edition, apparently enlarged and corrected and contains the folding plans for the first time. It is preceded by two editions of 1719. With the armorial bookplates of Johannes Naylor Leightonensis.

Giulio Alberoni was an Italian cardinal and statesman in the service of Philip V of Spain. He is known also for being a remarkable soldier and great gourmet who advised the Spanish court on table manners and menus.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
