Little Tim and the Brave Sea Captain was Ardizzone's first and most famous book for children. He would win the Kate Greenaway award in 1957 for Tim All Alone.

Comprises:

  • Little Tim and the Brave Sea Captain. Oxford University Press, London, 1955. Pictorial boards, jacket. Second Edition, completely redrawn and with additional text. Bookplate from entry in a book design exhibition from 1956. (Very light rubbing to corners of jacket, volume fine).
  • Tim All Alone Oxford University Press, London, 1975. Pictorial boards (Library copy, somewhat worn).
  • Tim's Last Voyage. The Bodley Head, 1972. Pictorial boards, jacket. First Edition. (Jacket clipped with hints of corner wear; hints of foxing to endpapers; near fine in like jacket)
  • Tim's Friend Towser. Oxford University Press, London, 1962. Pictorial boards. First Edition. (Mild rubbing at spine ends).
  • Ship's Cook Ginger. Macmillan , New York, 1978. Pictorial boards, jacket. First American Edition. (Fine).

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
