Rare complete run of the Brautigan Library newsletter. Volumes I-IV with 4 issues each, and volume V with nos. 1&2 together in a single issue.  Published quarterly from December 1990 through Winter / Spring 1995 by the Brautigan Library in Burlington, Vermont. Includes a handwritten signed note on the Brautigan Library letterhead from library founder Todd Lockwood noting that all copies of the 1st issue were folded. Also included is a handset poster promoting the Brautigan Library, available only to donors to the museum, printed in 1990.

In his 1971 novel, The Abortion, Richard Brautigan described a library for manuscripts outside the interests of the commercial publishing industry, "the unwanted, the lyrical and haunted volumes of American writing."  Inspired by Brautigan's vision, Todd Lockwood started The Brautigan Library in 1990, encouraging submissions of unpublished manuscripts, and opening the doors to visitors interested to browse or read them. The 23 newsletter contains much information for Brautugan fans, including contributions from Brautigan's daughter, Ianthe Swensen, and bibliographer John Barber.
