[6], 680, [84] pp. With 40 folding maps, 3 additional plates including extra engraved title page. (8vo) 19x15 cm (7½x6"),  period decoratively tooled pigskin, 3 raised spine bands, spine label, metal clasps.

This work was first published in 1624 without maps. Another edition, with only 38 maps, was published in 1661, in Amsterdam, by Elzevier.

Lot Amendments

Staining to pigskin, leather cracking at top joint, loss to spine label with title faded, metal clasps present and in working order; early writing to title page, minor wormholes to initial leaves, interior otherwise clean with just a few instances of light spotting, a solid copy; interior very good or better.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
