(8vo) 22.2x13.8 cm (8¾x5½"), original brown blindstamped cloth, spines lettered in gilt. Second Edition.

William Cornwallis Harris (1807-1848) joined the East Indian Company as a second lieutenant at the age of 16, serving in India for much of his remaining career, save for a year in South Africa in 1836, and a three-year mission to Ethiopia, narrated in the present work. A military engineer, he is perhaps most noted for his hunting exploits and observations of natural history. He died of fever in Poona, India, at age 41. The date and imprint of this second edition are the same as the first.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
